Roses are red, violets are blue; I love tea, how about you?

High Tea. Afternoon Tea. Tea Time. So many different names, but are they all the same thing? No. Believe it or not, there is a difference.
Tea Time and Afternoon Tea, an English custom, can be sort of interchanged, they both are taken about 4:00pm (ish). The menu can consist of Tea (of course), maybe some very lite sandwiches and a dessert such as cookies or small cakes. There is no hard fast rule about what is served other than it is not considered to be a meal, just a snack.
High Tea is an American creation. Typically, this Tea will consist of a more hearty menu. It is considered a meal, not a heavy one but a meal. A main course with meat, side dishes and a dessert. Of course there is the Tea!
The upcoming celebration I'm hosting for the Ladies CMA Blessed Riders, will be a High Tea. I'm still trying to decide on the menu, so any ideas will be welcome! I want it to be a night of typical girl type fun and something that we will want to do again. These ladies all work so very hard in our ministry and they deserve this night of recognition.
I'm thinking a Chicken Casserole, it is one that I've made in the past. It is light, delicious and easy to make. Then along with that I'm thinking a baby spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing, or a wonderful walnut apple salad with the same dressing. Both are wonderful, hard decision there. Then for dessert I have a fabulous old fashioned strawberry shortcake recipe. How does this sound?
Now off to surf the web for some interesting tea's for our party!
Blessings~
Kat
