Do
Not Worry
25 “Therefore
I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will
drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food
and the body more than clothing?
26 Look
at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns;
yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which
of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So
why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow:
they neither toil nor spin;
29 and
yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of
these. 30 Now
if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is
thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of
little faith?
31 “Therefore
do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What
shall we wear?’
32 For
after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that
you need all these things.
33 But
seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall
be added to you.
34 Therefore
do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
Matthew 6:25-34 (NKJV)
Worry.
The dictionary defines it as: “ give way to anxiety or unease; allow one's
mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.”
We are not expected to do as the
animals, glean from the earth and flitting about place to place, taking, as we
need. We are to plan, plant and
gather. We all do, to one degree or
another, depending upon our work.
He gives us example in the birds
and the flowers of the field. They lack
for nothing and worry not about the lack they may or may not suffer. He assures us of His over look and care of
our needs, physical and spiritual.
These verses are not about the
physical need of our bodies so much as they are about trust, trusting in Him to
do as He has promised. These verses are
about basic FAITH.
FAITH:
Hebrews
11:1 ~~ "Now
faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Through this Faith, I know that
my God is in control. I know that He
will watch over me and mine. I know that
He will keep all things that Satan means for evil away, turning them to good.
How do I know this?
Faith.
Why do I have faith? Because even though I do not physically see
God himself, I see His fingerprints everywhere.
I suppose, if it comes down to
it, things I see reinforce my Faith!
Father God,
You are Most Holy, a loving,
giving and wondrous God.
Thank you for the things you do
for me and mine. Thank you for the
blessings we receive everyday, the Love you have for us evidenced by your Son’s
Grace.
In the name of The Father, The
Son and The Holy Spirit ~ AMEN
Blessings to you and yours~ Kat
