Good Morning Beautiful!
We are you know, beautiful in His sight. No lie of satan can ever change that.
I am on week 6 of Breaking Free Bible Study by Beth Moore. Oh my goodness! It has been an amazing, terrifying, learning, eye opening AND freeing journey to date! I can only imagine what will be the outcome and I am totally looking forward to it.
Today's homework lesson is titled: To Live Happily Ever After.
First let me say that when I saw this title, I laughed out loud. Yea right! I thought. Well, I know better, that was satan's lie coming out as he whispered it in my ear. You see, I know, that I know, that I know, I WILL live happily ever after. Maybe satan forgot that I have the rule book, that also has the end results of his games in it.
One of our reference points for this homework session was James 1: 2 - 4. BUT, I as usual got lost in reading. Reading the scriptures for me is like eating boiled peanuts, I just can't stop once I start! One chapter leads to another and then another and pretty soon, I've read way more than I intend to when I started out and have to go back and read the focus scriptures again. Anyway, I wound up at James, Chapter 5. It got me to pondering… … but that is another subject for another day.
James 1:2-4 (ESV)
Testing of Your Faith
2 Count it all joy, my brothers,[a] when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.Footnotes:
- James 1:2 Or brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoimay refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God's family, the church; also verses 16, 19
Oh my goodness did this one speak to me, yes of past issues, but more to the point for today's issues.
I understand that I must rely on God's wisdom and do indeed trust Him. I must remember that it is not my work to change someone, but to be steadfast in my own walk in order to be an example to others.
This study has been eye opening in many ways as to who I am today and in who I am becoming. I thank God daily for women of the word like Beth Moore, that haven't let satan win and in healing, are answering God's call to lead others into healing. I thank God for our Study Leader, a Godly woman, that leads our group while learning as well. For opening her home to us, feeding us physically and allowing God to use her home as a table for God to feed us spiritually. For my fellow group members, that with me are walking a sometimes painful journey and are willing to share that they might help others.
I know this study will be a changing force in my life and I thank God for the courage to go through it, because I know that He sees me as beautiful and worthy.
Blessings ~ Kat
